Well, hello there. It’s that time of the year for me to round up what I consider to be my personal best of 2012.
In this entry, I’ll present 12 images that are not only my favorites, but they also represent my growth as a photographer. To kick off the list, I’ll begin with this dusk shot of Lower Manhattan by Brooklyn Bridge Park on a summer evening.
Down below is Toronto during a fiery sunset. Actually, this was the only sunset I witnessed during an otherwise overcast/rainy stay:
2012 was another year of several lighthouse shots (a near inevitability if you’re a New England landscape shooter), and my favorite of the bunch is this image of Fort Pickering Light in Salem, MA.
Though I’m no stranger to Los Angeles, my May visit was my first trip as a photographer. Here, we have the skyline from the Griffith Park Observatory during the blue hour.
Two of my favorite 2012 images of Boston were captured from Lo Presti Park, and both were captured at different sunsets.
Next up is Manhattan Beach at sunset, also taken during my May trip to Los Angeles:
The sole fisheye shot that made the list is this view of the Washington Monument in D.C. Taken in December, it’s the most recent photo in the set.
Below is the iconic Manhattan Bridge, taken a couple hours before sunset.
Shooting in El Matador Beach in Malibu, CA gave me the chance to sharpen my skills as a seascape photographer. Below is a composition during the final moments of sunset.
Looks like I picked a good evening to head over to New York’s Gantry Plaza State Park for some skyline shooting. The sunset I witnessed that evening was the most stunning I’ve captured in the Big Apple with my camera.
Finally, here’s Boston at the blue hour by the Charles River.
So there they are: my 12 favorite images in 2012. Thanks for viewing, and I wish you all a safe and joyous holiday. Here’s to more exciting images in 2013.
